Abstract

This article seeks to identify the influences of the French journalistic model in the Brazilian press of the 19th century and to show the way in which tupiniquim journalism took hold of the innovations coming from France and integrated them into daily practice. This study additionally seeks to verify how these influences made the first journalistic-literary demonstrations possible in the Brazilian press, drastically changing the lines between journalism and literature.
