Bridges with other fields of knowledge, Rwanda and controversy
Last modified: 2019-02-03
Abstract
Twenty-five years after the genocide in Rwanda, intense and unbreakable controversies follow any attempt at understanding facts, political crises and far beyond hidden agenda. Whether a controversy comes from literary journalism or in journalism research, such extreme situation like the April 1994 genocide shows the necessity of building bridges with other fields of knowledge. The one and only focus on ethnical explanation of troubles in Rwanda lets every controversy drive the media coverage. For instance, Rwandese political interests and economics are far behind the ethnical discourse.
